গত বছরের ৫ আগস্টের পর রাজনৈতিক কারণ অভ্যন্তরীণ বাস্তুচ্যুতির পেছনে প্রভাব রেখেছে বলে মনে করেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শান্তি ও সংঘর্ষ অধ্যয়ন বিভাগের ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান মুহাম্মদ সাজ্জাদ হোসেন সিদ্দিকীও। তবে এর সঙ্গে অর্থনৈতিক কারণও যুক্ত থাকতে পারে বলে মনে করেন তিনি।

তাত্ত্বিক ও ঐতিহাসিক দিক বিবেচনায়, মানুষকেন্দ্রিক দুটি বিপরীতমুখী আলাপ প্রণিধানযোগ্য। প্রথমটি হলো, মানুষ সৃষ্টির শ্রেষ্ঠ জীব। কিন্তু সেই মানুষকেই আবার বলা হয় প্রাণিকুলের সবচেয়ে বড় প্রিডেটর:

“For Bangladesh to progress, it is essential to re-examine inherited labels and evaluate today's student movements based on their current actions as well as their historical burdens. The younger generation is increasingly rejecting the cycle of campus violence.”

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শান্তি ও সংঘর্ষ অধ্যয়ন বিভাগের ভারপ্রাপ্ত চেয়ারম্যান সাজ্জাদ সিদ্দিকী প্রথম আলোকে বলেন, যখন বিচারহীনতার সংস্কৃতি বেড়ে যায়, তখন মানুষও মানুষের প্রতি সহিংস হয়ে ওঠে।
