About Dr. Sazzad Siddiqui
Dr. Sazzad Siddiqui(officially named as Muhammad Sazzad Hossain Siddiqui) is a Professor and Chairman (Acting) in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His academic career began in 2008, when he joined the Department as a lecturer. He was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2012 and to Associate Professor in 2018. Dr Siddiqui was promoted to the position of Professor in 2025.
He completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Dhaka. In 2014, he earned an MPhil in Public Administration at the University of Bergen, Norway, supported by a Norwegian government scholarship. He later earned his Ph.D. in Peace Studies, specializing in Hybrid Peacebuilding, from the University of New England, Australia, in 2022. His research has been widely published in reputed international platforms, including the United Nations-affiliated Asian Legal Resource Centre in Hong Kong, Wiley, Routledge (Taylor & Francis), and the Institute for Peace and Unification Studies at Seoul National University.
Dr. Siddiqui's research focuses on peace, conflict resolution, world politics, and diplomacy. He completed his PhD in Peace Studies, specializing in Hybrid Peacebuilding, at the University of New England, Australia. He regularly contributes to national and international discourse through his newspaper articles, research publications, and media appearances.
He has also been an Adjunct Faculty at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) since June 2025. His expertise in public speaking, teaching, and academic editing has made him a leading voice in peace and conflict studies in Bangladesh and beyond.
